e-Chips vs traditional one-time ink chips

For those who use one-time Mimaki ink chips we offer e-version alternative to traditional ink chips. Instead of buying physical one-time ink chips and having all related costs and shipping/timing issues we offer e-version of one-time ink chips.

The e-Chip is a file that contains all information about ink chip, and it’s always set at 100% of ink level. We have an extensive library of files for all ink types and colors. The e-Chips come with an emulator. The emulator is a special device where the e-Chips need to be uploaded to. You use the emulator as a USB stick over and over by loading new e-Chips once the old ones are expired.

The benefits:

• Competitive price vs physical one-time chip

• Instant delivery of e-Chips – after purchasing you get access to the e-Chips via link

• The emulator can be loaded with as many e-Chips as you need

• e-Chips for any ink type/color

• e-Chip is always set at 100%

• e-Chips can be used on multiple printers without limitation

How to use:

Please note that there are two types of printers which read ink chips in different ways.

1. Printers with one ink chip slot. These printers read data file and remember it. This means you can eject the emulator once the e-Chip is accepted by the printer. So, you need only one device (emulator) to update all inks in your printer.

If you want to try out how our e-Chips work for above printers, here’s our offer:

2. Printers with multiple ink chip slots. These printers read the data file only if the ink chip is physically inserted into the printer. In other words, the printer can read but cannot remember the information.

This means these types of printers require all emulators being inserted into the printer during the printing process. So initially you have to purchase as many emulators as colors in your printer.

If you want to try out how our e-Chips work for above printers, here’s our offer:

Questions and Answers

When do I need new e-Chip?

You will need new e-Chip when your old e-Chip’s ink level drops to 0% or e-Chip is expired (2 years). The printer reads and remembers information from every individual e-Chip, so once the ink level reaches 0% you cannot use the same e-Chip in the same printer. However, you can still use that e-Chip in a different printer as the ink level is always set as 100% in the download file.

How much does e-Chip cost?

At initial purchase you pay for e-Chip set, which comes to $6.25 per e-Chip (this price includes emulator/s)

Regular price – Set of 24 e-Chips at $108, which comes to $4.5 per E-Chip.

Individual (outside the set) e-Chip of your choice at $5.5

What are the benefits of using e-Chip?

• Competitive price vs physical one-time chip. An average market price of physical one-time chip starts from $7.5 for bulk orders and up to $25 per chip from other retailers. We offer e-Chip for $4.5 in the sets of 24 pieces.

• No shipping costs. You download the e-Chip form our website.

• No delays - instant delivery. After purchasing you automatically get access to the e-Chips via link.

• Extensive library of e-Chips for any ink type/color

• e-Chip is always set at 100% ink level

• Use the same e-Chip on multiple printers without limitation

• The emulator can be loaded with as many e-Chips as you need

Do I have to buy a device separately?

No. The device called emulator is included in the initial one-off purchase. For the prices refer the offers above. The emulator is the device where you upload e-Chips. Once you get the emulator/s you start to use e-Chips without limitation.
